Azerbaijan eyes to relocate 727 more Agali residents to their native land

Ensuring the employment of the population to be relocated to Agalı is in the spotlight, e-huquq.az reports citing the State Committee on Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons.

In this regard, the State Committee conducts a survey involving people in the age range of 16-63 to determine the socio-economic, educational, demographic status, current income-generating activity, self-employment, and employment level of the residents of Agalı village of Zangilan district, assess their needs, and ask their opinions about the phased return.

Surveys prepared by the State Committee with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) using pilot methodologies, face-to-face interviews, table studies, and focus group meetings are conducted in the cities of Baku, Sumgayit, Absheron, and Beylagan districts, where the population of Agali village is densely populated.

In general, 727 more residents are expected to be relocated to Agalı village, which was built based on the "smart village" concept.
