Outdoor smokers will be fined - OFFICIAL

As reported, in connection with the tightening of the quarantine regime in Azerbaijan, it was decided to make it mandatory to use the mask in the open air.

The head of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, police colonel Ehsan Zahidov, told e- huquq.az that, citizens will be fined 100 AZN if they take off a mask for smoking in the open air: “The use of a mask is important and mandatory. People who will smoke without mask will be also fined”.

Noted that, The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a decision on "additional measures for the use of personal protective equipment in a special quarantine regime." It was decided that in order to prevent the spread of a new type of coronavirus (COVID-19) infection in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, it is mandatory to use personal respiratory protective equipment (medical mask, cloth mask, respirator, etc.) in public places.

Violation of these requirements is punishable by a fine of 100 AZN for individuals, 200 AZN for officials and 400 AZN for legal entities for violation of the requirements for the use of personal protective equipment during the anti-epidemic regime, sanitary-hygienic and quarantine regimes.
