“AZGRANATA” LLC, one of the largest companies in the South Caucasus, has always been distinguished by its activities and innovations. Many brands produced here strengthen their position not only in the domestic market, but also abroad.
The plant, located in Agsu region, consists of fruit reception and processing, concentrate preparation, storage of fruit juices in aseptic tanks, wine and dark beverage storage, distillery, glass and "tetra pak" bottling and packing shops, storage of finished and auxiliary raw materials.
Equipped with equipment made in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Bulgaria and France, the plant employs local as well as foreign specialists.
We talked to the company's chief technologist, Moldovan specialist Viktor Bankov about the new technologies used at the plant and their importance in the production process. He spoke about the products and benefits of “AZGRANATA”.
According to Viktor Bankov, he was reluctant to come when he received a job offer from Azerbaijan. However, he was very surprised to see the high level of conditions created at “AZGRANATA”. He says the plant, equipped with modern equipment, produces a wide range of wines, adding that customers can get all the products they want from the winery. According to the expert, due to the capabilities of the technology at the plant, along with alcoholic wines, it has become possible to produce non-alcoholic wines. According to him, “AZGRANATA” is perhaps the only company in
Azerbaijan that can offer customers all the products that can be produced in the wine industry.
Emphasizing that one of the advantages of the company is that it has its own vineyards, Viktor Bankov said that they have been growing different varieties of grapes for the past two years.
Namig Ibrahimov, production manager for the alcoholic beverages sector, said that a wide range of products is produced here. He said that as a result of the management's efforts, high achievements have been made and the plant's production capacity has been strengthened. Namig Ibrahimov noted that they produce high quality products as a result of using equipment that meets the latest technologies.
The plant has a storage for dark drinks, where whiskey alcohol processed on the basis of Scottish technology is stored in 500-liter barrels made of American oak. These oak barrels were brought from France. In addition to whiskey, the dark beverage warehouse contains cognac spirits stored in oak barrels for 3 to 30 years. Due to the richest cognac reserves in Azerbaijan, the dark drink warehouse of the Az-Granata plant is called the golden fund of cognac.
The “AZGRANATA” winery has 128 stainless steel tanks with a capacity of 1,700 decoliters each. At the same time, the warehouse has oak barrels with a capacity of 225-350 liters imported from America and France, 18 oak idols with a capacity of 800 deciliters each, produced by the Italian company Garbellotto. They are used to grow high quality wines. The temperature here is stable between 14-16 degrees throughout the year.
A modernization workshop meeting modern standards has been established at the plant. Madera-type port wine is purchased in the shop. To do this, the wines are stored in oak barrels at high temperatures. The shelf life is at least three years.
The juice processing workshop at “AZGRANATA” is also equipped with the latest technologies. The annual production capacity of the plant is 100 million packages for fruit juice.
Mardan Zeynalov, head of the juice production workshop, said that 25 products were exported to 35 countries. He informed about the range of products.
All types of products produced at the plant undergo laboratory testing. Equipped with modern equipment, the laboratory allows you to get results quickly and accurately.
The laboratory's microbiologist Narmin Bashirli said that various analyzes were used for all products. According to him, proper laboratory testing is essential for the production of quality products.
