Turkiye logs 5 more monkeypox cases

"Five people have been infected with the monkeypox virus in Türkiye," said Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca, e-huquq.az reports.

The minister said that the number of people infected with the monkeypox virus, which was detected on June 30 in Türkiye for the first time, has increased: "Five cases of monkeypox virus have been detected in our country, four of those have recovered, while the treatment of one is underway."

The minister added that the disease spreads through close contact, so there is no pandemic risk.
