The Bar Association has been represented at important international events in the last three months

The Bar Association of the Republic of Azerbaijan has been represented at a number of important international events in the last three months.

According to the e-huquq.az, on October 27, Chairman of the Bar Anar Bagirov attended the annual UIA General Assembly, which is consist of the heads of the Bar Associations, members of the International Bar Association (UIA). At the event it was discussed the election of a new president and executive committee of the UIA, as well as many issues on the activities of the unity.

In addition, on October 30, a member of the Bar Association, Elchin Usub, attended an online conference of the German Bar Association. At the event it focused on the opportunities and risks of “Ultra Vires-Scrutiny” following the decision of the German Constitutional Court PSPP.

On November 25, the head of the International Cooperation Department of the Bar Association attended an event organized by the UIA on "Mechanisms to protect the mental and psychological health of members of the Bar Association after the current COVID-19 pandemic, assistance mechanisms and stress management in difficult times."

In addition, Farhad Najafov, Advisor to the Chairman of the Bar Association, attended an international event of the International Lawyers' Forum of Kazakhstan on November 27. The main theme of the event was digitalization and advocacy: There have been new challenges for the rule of law, justice and protection of human rights.

It should be noted that the Bar Association of the Republic of Azerbaijan was accepted as a member of “LAWASIA” on October 13. “LAWASIA” is an association of judges, lawyers and legal organizations covering five continents, working on the interests and problems of the legal profession. The Bar Association of the Republic of Azerbaijan is the first Bar Association in the CIS and Eastern Europe to become a member of “LAWASIA”.
