The European Law Students Association (ELSA) is the world's largest law school and student organization, bringing together more than 350 cities and universities in 44 European countries, including more than 54,500 young people.The organization was founded in 1981, and the Azerbaijani office was founded in 2010.The main activity of ELSA is to support the development of young people by holding useful local and international events, competitions, international internship programs in various fields of law.
Samira Safarova, Member of the National Board of ELSA in Azerbaijan, was elected Vice-President for Academic Affairs of the International Board (IB) at the International Council meeting held on April 11-17, 2021, gaining the votes of more than 20 countries.
It should be noted that the IB is the highest executive body of the organization and 8 members of the IB operate at the head office of ELSA in Brussels, Belgium for one year.Their main job is to collect information from member countries, prepare them accordingly, as well as coordinate and manage Country and City groups.

Besides, Samira Safarova is a member of the Board of the Bar Association and "ProDemos - For the People", which was launched on the initiative of ELSA Azerbaijan, and at the end, postal stamps dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijani advocacy were presented.
