New Law Office opens in Baku - PHOTO

A new office of the “Yusif Allahverdiyev and Partners” Law Firm was opened on February 17.

The opening ceremony was attended by Chairman of the Bar Association Anar Bagirov, MP Nigar Arpadarai, as well as advocates and legal scholars, e-huquq.az reports.

Yusif Allahverdiyev, the head of the bureau, introduced the guests to the office and said that the bureau has a total area of 300 square meters and is equipped with 1 confidential meeting room, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, a conference room, as well as modern computers and other equipment. The office has created a completely comfortable environment for advocates.

In turn, A.Bagirov praised the repair work carried out in the office and informed about the work done in recent years to improve the material and technical condition of all law enforcement agencies operating in the country.

He also noted that the development of advocacy in Azerbaijan is reflected in increasing the number of lawyers. Experienced lawyers working in various governmental and non-governmental organizations want to become advocates. Today, being an advocate is a matter of image for lawyers. I think that being an advocate is the dream of every Azerbaijani lawyer. Then MP Nigar Arpadarai said that the situation with advocacy in Azerbaijan is changing for the better. New law offices are being opened, and the advocacy institute is developing. She noted that it is gratifying that many women lawyers are engaged in advocacy: “Because I am very happy to see that Azerbaijani women, both as members of the Parliamentary Committee on Family, Women and Children, and as a woman, are active and at the same time advancing in the field of advocacy. There was a stereotype that advocacy is not a woman's job, and women cannot succeed here. But the number of women lawyers is growing every year".

In addition, a meeting was held with the participation of lawyers working in the office, listened to their problems and suggestions during their professional activities, were informed about the recent measures taken by the Presidium of the Bar Association, upcoming work, and answered questions of lawyers.
