MoD: Azerbaijan troops control the operational conditions along the entire front

During the day on the 18th of October and the night before the 19th, the frontline operations continued in the direction of Aghdara-Aghdam, Fuzuli-Hadrut-Jabrail, as well as along the Araz River against the enemy who tried to resist. The enemy fired at the defensive positions of our units with firearms, mortars and artillery, the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan told e-huquq.az.

As a result of the activities carried out by the Azerbaijani Army, the enemy's manpower, 2 T-72 tanks, 2 BM-21 "Grad" YARS, 1 D-30 and 1 D-20 howitzer cannons and 11 vehicles were destroyed in different directions of the front.

At present, our troops control the operational conditions along the entire front.

At the same time, it became known that the commander of the battalion, which was carrying out a combat mission in the defensive zone of the 1st Motorized Rifle Regiment of the Armenian Armed Forces, which had lost battle positions in many directions, withdrew its combat positions. The chief of staff of the 63rd tank battalion stationed in the defence area of the regiment was killed, and the commander of the 1st battalion and his deputy Gevorg Makaryan were wounded.

Some of the personnel of the battalion in the defence area of the 5th Destroyer Regiment were destroyed, while others left the battle positions and fled. Among the dead was Major Hayk Stepanyan, the deputy commander of the battalion. The regiment received information about the lack of food, fuel and ammunition.

Commandant posts have been set up on the roads to prevent military officers, volunteers, as well as men under the age of 55 who want to emigrate to Armenia, fleeing from combat positions in the occupied territories. During the inspection of vehicles in these areas, it was found that a large number of weapons, military clothing and equipment, as well as bedding were removed from the combat zone and transported to Armenia.
