“This issue should be studied by historians, not politicians, and historians should decide whether to "recognize" or not. Recognizing the "Armenian genocide" for just political purposes is a falsification of history.”
The statement was made by political scientist Yusif Bagirzadeh, commenting on Biden's thoughts on the false term "Armenian genocide.", e-huquq.az reports.
According to him, in fact, the United States, other countries that are supporters of the "fake genocide", and even the Armenians themselves are well aware that there has been no Armenian genocide in history: “The fact is that until 1915 there was no genocide against Armenians. In 1915, the Armenians attacked Turkey, which had been involved in the war by the Triple Entente, and killed a large number of civilians in collaboration with the enemy. As a result, those who opposed the rule of the Ottoman Empire were arrested and hundreds of treacherous Armenians were rightly punished. After that, the families of the treacherous Armenians, who intended to destroy Turkey and open its borders to the enemy armies, were moved to the extreme points of the country. Well, it's that simple. The
Ottomans, in solidarity with the enemy, betrayed the state and inflicted the lightest possible punishment on the Armenians, who killed many civilians. Was Biden expected to make such a statement? Yes, it was expected. In his pre-election promises, Biden addressed the Armenian Diaspora in the United States, saying that the events of 1915 in Ottoman Turkey were a genocide. Besides, it is enough to look at Biden's political career to see that he is an anti-Turkish”
The political scientist said that Biden got into close contact with the Armenian lobby during his political career: “In particular, this cooperation began in the late 80sThus, during his tenure as a senator, Biden was either a co-author or an active supporter of almost all pro-Armenian resolutions and bills. Biden also directed his anti-Turkish position against Azerbaijan. Thus, when the US Congress adopted the Freedom Support Act in 1992, representatives of the Armenian lobby in the Senate proposed the 907th amendment against Azerbaijan, which would allow the United States to support economic growth and job creation in the countries that separated from the USSR. The opportunities created by the act did not apply to Azerbaijan. Among the authors of the known 907th amendment are J. Biden and J. Kerry. Biden's support for the Armenians does not end there. Thus, between 1992 and 2008, Senator Biden was the strongest supporter of the allocation of financial aid from the US budget to Armenia and the so-called “Nagorno-Karabakh.” Official Turkey's position is that the idea of the "Armenian genocide" is the subject of discussion of historians, not politicians, as a subject of research. Turkey has repeatedly stated that an impartial jointly commission should be set up to put an end to this nonsense, and that the commission should examine the documents in the archives of both Turkey and foreign countries and come to a final conclusion. However, Armenian historians have always an obstacle on the way of the establishment of such a commission, fearing that the "documents" they referred to would be proven to be false. The Turkish government has opened its archives to researchers around the world since 1989. Well-known researchers such as Stanford Shaw, Bernard Lewis, Heath Lowry, Justin McCarthy, Gunther Levy, Samuel Wims, who have long studied the essence of the "Armenian issue" and the problem of genocide, have come to the conclusion that no massacres have been committed against Armenians in Turkey territory. On the contrary, the Armenians committed massacres against the Turks. The main reason for the losses of the Armenians was their presence on the opposite fronts against the Turks during the war.
Finally, Y. Bagirzadeh said that Biden not only tried to falsify history by using the term "Armenian genocide", but also improved the already complicated and cold relations between the United States and Turkey: “At the same time, such a position of the White House administration undermines all efforts to establish a lasting and stable peace in the South Caucasus.”
