Armenia resorted provocation in direction of Kalbajar district of border, 6 Armenian militaries taken as hostages

Intelligence-sabotage group of Armenian armed forces attempted to pass to our territory in the direction of Yukhari Ayrim residential settlement of the Kalbajar district of Armenian-Azerbaijani state border at about 3:00 a.m on May 27, Ministry of Defense told e-huquq.az.

Six servicemen of the opposite side were surrounded, neutralized, and taken as hostages as a result of operational measures, taken immediately, when the enemy was conducting mining activity in provision road leading to positions of the Azerbaijani Army on the border.

Gathering of Armenian armed forces in several combat equipment, including tanks was observed in the early hours. Their action was prevented thanks to measures taken by our side.

The operational condition is under control of our units in this direction now.
