The Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Ombudsman) Sabina Aliyeva issued a statement noting Armenia does not fulfill its obligations by committing provocative acts against Azerbaijan, the office of the Ombudsman told e-huquq.az.
Armenia doesn’t fulfill its obligations again by committing provocative acts against Azerbaijan contrary to the generally accepted principles and norms of international law, the requirements of international humanitarian law, reads the statement:
“We’d like to note that recently, almost every day firing the positions of Republic of Azerbaijan from different areas of state border, Armenian armed forces attempt to aggravate the situation and create new hotbed of conflict. At the same time the opposite side buries in a large number of landmines with the sabotage groups in the territories of Dashkasan, as well as the liberated Kalbajar district, and it causes danger to the people’s life and health. Azerbaijan has several times fiercely condemned Armenia’s such provocative acts, which undermine the peace talks between two countries and addressed relevant international organizations.
However, since no measures which determine the responsibility at the international level have been taken against Armenia, its attacks on the territories and civilians of Azerbaijan are increasing, all of these harms the reconstruction and peace process in the region, as well as hinder the provision of human rights and freedoms.”
