Wildfire breaks out in Shaki

A fire broke out in a thicket in the forest near the village of Kish in the Sheki region, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Irada Ibrahimova, told e-huquq.az.

According to her, since the fire took place in a mountainous area with complex terrain, there were difficulties bringing equipment to the area: "The fire is mainly extinguished manually. Currently, up to 100 employees of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources local bodies and representatives of the State Fire Protection Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are involved in extinguishing the fire."

Ibrahimova has called on holidaymakers who prefer spending time on the lap of nature to be cautious and understand the responsibility since wildfires are severe and dangerous.
