Head of the Academy of Justice of Turkey has visited the Supreme Court

On 6 July 2021, President of the Supreme Court Ramiz Rzayev held a meeting with a delegation visiting our country led by the Head of the Academy of Justice of Turkey Muhittin Ozdemir.

Expressing satisfaction in welcoming the delegation to Azerbaijan, President of the Supreme Court deeply thanked the Honorable President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the people of Turkey for political and moral support shown to our country during the victorious 44-day Patriotic War. The President of the Supreme Court emphasized the high level of multifaceted cooperation between our countries.

Noting the strategic relationship developing on an upward trajectory between “one nation, two states” that his risen to the level of an alliance, the President of the Supreme Court described the Shusha Declaration signed in June this year as one of the most significant documents in the history of diplomacy of our countries. During the meeting, the President of the Supreme Court provided information about the judicial system of Azerbaijan, the structure of the Supreme Court and its scope of work.

The President of the Supreme Court spoke about the measures taken in recent years towards the improvement and modernization of the judicial system in the country as well as the tasks facing the Supreme Court in ensuring the administration of justice and the rule of law. The President specifically highlighted the role of the Academy of Justice of Turkey in harmonization of the judicial selection procedures with modern standards and the formation of the judiciary in Azerbaijan.

The Head of the Academy of Justice of Turkey Muhittin Ozdemir expressed gratitude on behalf of the delegation for the cordial meeting, congratulated Azerbaijan on its glorious victory in the Patriotic War, wished mercy to our martyrs, healing and health to our veterans and wished the Azerbaijani people peace and prosperity.

The head of the delegation highly praised the legislative framework of our country that meets modern standards and judicial-legal reforms. He also stressed the importance and confidence in further expanding judicial cooperation between the two countries.

The sides discussed issues of mutual interest at the meeting.
