Plenum Meeting of Supreme Court to be held

The next meeting of the Plenum of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held on September 27, 2021 under the chairmanship of Ramiz Rzayev.

According to the e-huquq.az, opening the plenary session, the Chairman of the Supreme Court said that a year ago, on September 27, 2020, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia intensively fired on the positions of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as settlements, along the line of contact, launched military operations.

In response to this military aggression, the Azerbaijani armed forces conducted counter-offensive operations against the Armenian occupying forces, in full compliance with Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, based on the right to self-defense and international humanitarian norms. The 44-day Patriotic War ended in victory. Our lands, which have been under occupation for 30 years, have been liberated thanks to the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, and the courage of our victorious army. Today, Remembrance Day is being held in our country. God bless the souls of our Martyrs who sacrificed their lives for freedom and territorial integrity of our homeland, and we wish good health to our veterans.

The souls of the martyrs of the Great Patriotic War were commemorated in the plenum with a minute of silence.

The Plenum discussed the draft decision of the Plenum of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan on amending the decision No. 4/2021 of the Plenum of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated May 25, 2021 and adopted a relevant decision.

The plenum also considered specific cases.
