A discussion on partnership between the Mediation Council and TIKA

A meeting was held between the Chairman of the Board of the Mediation Council Nadir Adilov and the Coordinator of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) for Azerbaijan Fatih Yilmaz.

E-huquq.az reports that, during the meeting, N. Adilov informed about the mediation reforms in Azerbaijan.

He said that the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Mediation" was signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on March 29, 2019, and the activities regulated by this law are part of successful judicial and legal reforms in our country.

N.Adilov spoke about the importance of partnership and exchange of experience for Azerbaijan with the Mediation Council and relevant Turkish institutions in this field.

F. Yilmaz said that the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) was established in 1992 under the Turkish Foreign Ministry to provide foreign assistance. At present, it operates under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey.

He noted that TIKA is currently active in five continents with 62 offices in 60 countries. At the same time, partnership is being established with various development centers in about 100 countries around the world.

The organization's Baku Program Coordination Office has been operating since 1994 and has been headed by F. Yilmaz since August 11, 2021. The projects are implemented on a one-time basis in the form of small grants and special attention is paid to partnership with governmental and non-governmental structures of Azerbaijan in agriculture, tourism, institutional infrastructure development, economic, technical, social, cultural and health activities.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed the issues facing 2022 and stressed the importance of continued partnership.
