The Regulations of the Mediation Council Qualification Commission were approved

By the decision of the Board of the Mediation Council dated December 30, 2021, the Regulations of the Qualification Commission of the Mediation Council was approved.

E-huquq.az reports that the Regulations have been developed in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the field of mediation and determine the establishment, rules and powers of the Mediation Council's Qualification Commission.

The Commission is guided by the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, international treaties to which the Republic of Azerbaijan is a party, the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Mediation" and other normative legal acts, as well as decisions of the General Meeting, Board and Regulations.

The novelty of the Regulations is that the Commission is composed of 7 members appointed by the Board of the Council from among the mediators. The former membership consisted of 5 people. However, according to the new rules, two more people will be appointed to the Qualification Commission by the decision of the Board of the Mediation Council.

According to the Regulations of the Commission, the Commission will take part in activities related to the promotion and development of mediation, the definition of priorities for the development of mediation, the development and implementation of state programs and development concepts. At the same time, to participate in the preparation of draft regulations in the field of mediation, will make proposals to improve the regulatory framework in this field.

In addition, the Commission will provide methodological assistance to the activities of mediators, conduct regular analyzes, and prepare informational and instructional resources. It will coordinate with mediation training institutions in connection with the initial training of persons wishing to engage in mediation activities and in-service training courses for mediators.
